Issues for Action - Key Issue 3
PDOs and CDOs need to be systematically involved in partner group meetings as brokers of good practice, to represent the interests of the LEA and to maintain a direct link between the partner groups and EDS.
- In a significant minority of partner groups a startlingly conflicting perception existed between primary and secondary headteachers as to the quality of the transition arrangements. Communication of the highest and acutest quality is crucial to ensure that the whole transition process is managed and developed effectively.
- We should use the information that we have gathered on the current situation of individual partner groups to support and challenge schools on their transition arrangements and the progress they make over the next 12–18 months. Partner group activity to be reported upon and discussed annually during SMT/EDS Summer Term meeting.
