We asked pupils in the Swansea and Neath Port Talbot area to design two characters named Sam Sum and Cathy Count to feature in the Mathemagic web site. The response was fantastic as pupils let their imaginations run riot and demonstrated their artistic flair.

The winning entrants were Lloyd Morgan of Ysgol Gymraeg Blaendulais who designed Sam Sum, and Shaun Cullen of St. Joseph's Cathedral School with his drawing of Cathy Count.

Lloyd and Shaun's entries have been redrawn to feature in this web site, but you can view their original designs - along with all the other entrants who took part - in our gallery.
