Locus
Locus of a point equidistant from a line

This animation shows the locus of a point which moves so that it is always a distance r from the line PQ.

The straight lines are parallel to PQ and a distance of r from PQ. The ends of the line PQ are fixed points, so you will have to draw semi-circles of radius r.

On a piece of paper draw a line 5cm long. Using a ruler and a compass, draw the locus of the line.
