Prepare a two minute presentation for a public meeting which has been called to decide what is to be done with the waste ground. Your group would like the land to be used to develop a play area and adventure playground.

Design and produce publicity materials to support your campaign, e.g. leaflets, posters, newspaper articles, petitions etc.

• Read the materials available.  Decide exactly how you would like the land to be used. Gather evidence to support your cause, but be aware of arguments from other groups.
• Call a meeting so that you can begin to plan your campaign. Assign jobs and responsibilities to other group members.
• Begin the design and production of campaign materials.
• Make contact with other groups to gather extra information.
• Plan and rehearse your presentation.
• Make your presentation to a board of councillors at a public meeting.
• Review your presentation with the group members and decide how it may have been improved.
