Stop Press: A car belonging to a council surveyor was totally destroyed by fire early this morning. The council workman was visiting the Riverside waste ground at around 7:30 am when the incident occurred. A local woman was out walking her dog and noticed a red car driving away from the area at high speed. She reported that she only caught a glimpse of the registration plate and believes it to have a 'D' prefix. Firemen arrived on the scene quite quickly and said that the cause of the fire was a petrol soaked rag being placed into the petrol tank and then set alight. Police are asking people to be on the lookout for a 'D' registered red car and are setting up an incident room at Drenewydd Police Station. The contact number is 345999. |
