The method of carrying
out the task was conventional and proved to be effective.
By finely grading the task continuity and progression were achieved.
The nature of S.E.N pupils is such that reinforcement work will
be needed. The work cards made to support the pupil worked well.
They re-inforced the skills that the pupil needed to use and enabled
the pupil to feel independent and successful. They reduced the need
of the pupil to ask the teacher for help.
Pupils (dependent on individual abilities) did acquire the expected
skills both in the subject areas supported and I.C.T.
The software presented the selected subject areas in an interesting
and stimulating manner. The outcome was a series of posters designed
and produced for specific purposes by the pupil.
Evidence from the various stages of this task was collected and
assessed.
The pupil gained many skills from this series of tasks. It has developed
confidence in the child, giving him the opportunity to experiment
with ideas and enjoyment. The threat of "pen and paper",
which is often felt by a special needs child, was not there. |
