d.
Assessing Learning
The
webs produced will form the main evidence of the extent to which
each group of pupils have met the learning objectives set out
in Part 1a. These objectives can be used by the pupils in evaluating
the websites, as well as by the teacher in carrying out an assessment
of each group's learning. A mark out of four could be awarded
for each of the five objectives, with each member of a group gaining
the same mark.
Assessment
of individuals will be particularly difficult in this situation,
but the monitoring of progress should have highlighted any particular
strengths or weaknesses in certain pupils, which ought to be recorded
for future reference.
Questions
for Consideration
- How
else could you assess pupils' IT capability, and their knowledge
of IT systems development?
- How
good is this other method at identifying individual attainment,
rather than that of the group?
