One of the earliest polygonal chapter houses, this building, once the
business centre of the abbey, nearby ruins and the present church are
all that remains of the former Cistercians monastery.
Neglected by the Mansel Talbots, the roof collapsed in 1799, the building
having been used as a coalhouse.
