Launching
Programs from a CD-ROM
Once
installed, the CD-ROM program will usually add a Shortcut to launch
the CD-ROM direct from the Desktop. In this case, insert the CD-ROM
into the CD drive and double-click its Shortcut. The program will
now launch.
If
there is no Shortcut on the Desktop:
- Insert
the CD-ROM into the CD drive.
- Click
the Start button at the bottom left of the screen.
- From
the pop-up menu, select Programs.
- In
the sub-menu that appears, the name of the CD-ROM program will
be listed - though on some installations the manufacturer's
name is used instead. For example, in the case of Microsoft
Encarta, it is listed as Microsoft Reference - and once you
select this, Microsoft Encarta will appear in another sub-menu.
Move your mouse cursor over Encarta and click.
- The
CD-ROM will now launch.
