Navigating
a Database
When
opening a table, the record pointer will point to the top (beginning)
of the table. To move the record pointer use the status line at
the bottom left of the window. Click on the arrows to go forward
or back one record and stop arrows to go to top or bottom of table.
To
go to a particular record, click in and amend the number in the
box to the left of Record and press Enter. Try moving to different
records using both the arrow and menu options.
An
alternative is to go to the Edit menu and select Find, and the
box below will appear allowing you to search for specific records.
Make sure your cursor is in the Address line 1 field and Match
is set to Any Part of Field. Then look for Glen Road.
Selecting
Records
To select a set of continuous records drag the record pointer
along the column of record selectors. To select all records click
in top record selectors (to left of field names). Try selecting
some records. Use the Format menu and select Font to change the
font options of the records. Use the Formatmenu and select Cells
to add/remove gridlines. The checkmark indicates whether the gridlines
are shown.
