Advantages
of Using an Electronic Database
Searching
through manual records can be very time consuming and costly when
there are thousands of items of data. It may be practical to keep
a manual system going for say thirty to forty records, but anything
larger, or the future prospect of large amounts of data being
added, a computerised database would be recommended.
For
mailshots, regular reports and continuous amendments to records,
a computer-based system would be essential. The benefit of speed
and saving of paper and other manual storage units, make this
system a good choice.
