Sending
E-mail to more than One Person
You
would normally use this procedure in the case of contacting all
team members.
- Click
on the To button. A list of names of staff should appear. (Note
these are usually arranged in alphabetical order according to
Christian name). The list should contain all staff whose machines
are set up for e-mail. If the recipient's name isn't there,
they will not be able to receive e-mail.
- Click
once on the staff member's name whom you wish to e-mail. The
name should appear in the white box to the right of the To window,
underlined. Click the OK button.
- Click
the second person's name, eg. Clive Prosser. There is no maximum
number of people to which your message can be sent, and all
the names will all appear in the To box.
- Type
your message.
- Click
Send. All recipients should receive their mail.
Please
experiment with sending messages to others in the group.
Carbon
Copy (CC)
Carbon copy is usually used where a message is not being sent
directly to a person - ie. for action - but where you wish the
recipient to have a copy, for example, notification to a co-ordinator
or Line Manager of a team action.
To
use carbon copy:
- Follow
the above instructions for sending an individual/group e-mail.
-
Click the Cc. button. Select the person's name from the list.
- Type
your message.
- Click
on Send.
