Computer
Presentation Packages
There
are many packages that allow the creation of slides using a variety
of art tools.
The
user is able to create images and designs and use clip art (pre-drawn
graphics or pictures) to import into a slide, as well as scanned
images. Most packages are easy to use and beginners can become
quite proficient in a very short time. You do not have to be a
trained artist to use a presentation package since they are aimed
for use by business and marketing personnel. Some of the terminology
used is illustrated in the Glossary.
This
module is concerned with using Microsoft PowerPoint presentation
software to produce a presentation in on screen and printed formats.
The package has the ability to create, edit, save and print a
slide show (a business presentation) and drawings. The presentation
module refers specifically to computer packages designed to prevent
information in a variety of different ways - on screen, printed
out and via projection.
What
is a Presentation?
A presentation is used to provide information to an audience,
for example in marketing a product or service. To do this effectively,
first a design brief (or "pen picture" of the presentation) should
be written, answering the questions of who, what, where and why.
- Who
is the presentation for? (ie. who is your target market?)
- What
is the presentation attempting to show?
- Where
will the presentation be used?
- Why
will the presentation be used?
- What
is it for?
