Creating a New Slide in Outline View

  1. Place the mouse cursor at end of Slide 2's text and press Enter. Click on the Common Tasks floating toolbar and select New Slide.
  2. Type in the title 'Targets for Next Year" and press Enter. Click on the Common Tasks floating toolbar and select New Slide.
  3. Select Slide 4 and click on the Demote (Indent more) arrow to demote it to the first bullet level. Key in "Increase computer sales by 25%", "Sell more bundled software packages" and "Open a new sales shop in Cardiff" at the same bullet level. Note that the Outline view is the best for editing the text on your slides though text can be edited in situ in Slide view. Your slide should look like this:
  4. Whilst there is information on the slide, you do not merely wish to repeat what is on the slide. In the presentation you should provide some background information. Select Slide 1 and change to Notes view.
  5. Click in the text placeholder and increase font size by clicking on the Zoom Control button on the Toolbar and choose 66%.
  6. Type in "Welcome to this year's Annual General Meeting for Able Computers. Thank you all for your continued support this year and coming to the meeting today. The number of shareholders has increased with many staff taking advantage of the employee share scheme".
  7. Move to Slide 2 and type in "It has been a successful year for the Company who have an enthusiastic, motivated and skilled workforce. Seven employees have been taken on - two graduates for the network design, two in the computer retail shop at Neath, one technician and two in the computer assembly areas".
  8. Move to Slide 3 and type in "Orders continue to increase and the Company is confident in forecasting the following as goals for the next year. Able is planning to expand its retail outlets and a three year plan is outlined in the detailed report given to you at the entrance".

As you have placed some text into the slide show it is advisable to check your spelling by clicking the Tools menu and selecting Spelling for the standard Microsoft Spelling dialog box.
