a. Aims and Objectives

The table below and on the following page describe the aims, objectives and resources the teacher has to consider for his pupils. They are undertaking Science at KS3, and the focus is on energy composition of foods. Pupils have been covering the basic principles of nutrition and the importance of a balanced diet. This task will involve them finding out about the energy composition of various foods to plan a variety of nutritional meals.

Lesson Aim Pupil Learning Outcomes

To use ICT to find out about the energy composition of various foods.

  • Pupils successfully access relevant web sites or CD-ROMs.
  • Pupils select information and use this to produce a balanced meal.
