Basic
ICT Skills Provision
The partnership has extensive experience of training the general
public in basic ICT skills. In the region, partnership members
are responsible for coverage of over 80% of learners working in
this area.
Range
of Provision/Skills
The partnership trains in ICT from basic skills to advanced professional
and technical levels. The range of applications and platforms
taught is as extensive as the industry itself, and the depth of
approach to ICT ranges from functional sessions in simple applications
to extensive technical training in router hardware and network
configuration.
Training
in Application of ICT to Teaching and Learning
The partnership offers a range of teacher training, including
qualifications from PGCE Primary to NVQ in Adult Education and
guidance. In all areas, units and modules of curriculum specifically
dedicated to ICT in teaching and learning are delivered. The partners'
experience and reputation in high quality pedagogic training is
extensive and high.
Experience
of Integrating ICT into Teaching and Learning
All members of the partnership see integration of ICT into the
learning of students as strategically and operationally critical.
Examples include:
- Application
of PLATO and other e-resource systems in the FE sector
- Evaluations
of CD-ROM and other electronic materials at Baglan
- Evaluation
projects on authoring software in the HE sector
- An
extensive range of ICT/ILT projects internal, to and between
the partner organisations
