Information Technology Key Skills

Pupils can:

  • discuss the implications of ICT and its value in the outside world
  • gather information from a range of printed and electronic reading materials
  • become adept at re-drafting written composition on the screen
  • generate and discuss ideas and communicate them in a variety of ways using ICT
  • choose appropriate styles of graphical representation to present information, and make valid interpretations from them
  • become aware of some of the implications of inaccurate data entry and it effects on the validity and reliability of results
  • discover the flexibility and facilities of ICT by investigating different methods of presentation of data or text
  • use skills of numeracy to sort and classify information in the most effective manner
  • consider carefully the framing of questions when undertaking work involving questionnaires or when interrogating a database
